Team IJA Since The Beginning!

What I do for our clients:

My number 1 job is to ensure our clients’ success. That can look a little different for each client — it can mean connecting strategy to action, resetting expectations when they are unrealistic, calling out when their goals are threatened, vocalizing the unpopular opinion, letting people know when they are in their own way… thoughtfully, of course. There isn’t anything I won’t do to make sure our clients are successful on their Workday® journey.

What I do outside of work:

I enjoy directing the circus that is my family! They are my everything, and I love spending time with my kiddos and animals. Something about being with my kids and getting to see the world through inquisitive eyes, expressive emotions, and innocence melts the chaos of the world around me and grounds me to what’s most important — family.

Most rewarding thing about being a part of IJA:

I have the pleasure of working every single day with people who are smarter than me and better than me on almost every level. I am constantly learning something from someone on our team and it is my favorite part of being a member of this family.

Why IJA is different:

It would be easier to tell you the ways we’re NOT different! But I would say the BIGGEST difference is the personal sense of obligation each person at IJA carries when we partner with a client. It is truly a feeling of we don’t win unless our clients win.

Best place for thinking:

Usually my car with rock music blaring – something about that allows me to see the forest through trees differently.

Favorite pizza toppings:

Pepperoni, mushroom, onion, jalapenos

Enneagram type:

8 – The Challenger

If my best friend described me in three words, they would be:

Determined/driven, compassionate, no bullshit

Favorite holiday:

It’s a toss up because I love all of them. Halloween because who doesn’t love dressing up!? Thanksgiving because I love being intentional about gratitude and Christmas because I love Jesus and giving gifts to others!

Ask for permission or ask for forgiveness?

Ask for forgiveness — I default to action in the best interest of our client. That’s an easy explanation.

Best advice I’ve ever received:

I have been blessed to have amazing mentors and people in my life to share their wisdom with me, so I will share a few:

My dad: Never take a dollar you didn’t earn.
My Gran: The best way to get over one man is to get under another.
My Gran: You don’t get to define your legacy – other people do, so be careful how you treat them.
My dad: If you treat the janitor the same way you treat the CEO, you never have to worry about how you treat people.
My dad: Money doesn’t buy class. You can be poor and still walk with pride.
My dad: 2 types of people in life – winners and losers. You get to decide which one you are.
My father in law: What is always fair isn’t always equal.

A few of my favorite things:

Trashy reality TV, laughing uncontrollably, comfort food
