Sandra Langlois joined our team in 2019. She is a Senior Analyst focusing on Change Management and internal People Services. Get to know a little more about her below!
What do you do at IJA?
I work to support our clients from a change perspective, focusing on training and communications. I’m blessed to also support our IJA family from a People Services (HR) perspective. As a growing firm, we have several exciting initiates on our roadmaps that I can’t wait to get my hands on! From a development, leadership, and engagement standpoint, it’s a dream. I love the day-to-day variety of challenges that arise, and solving for them.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I love finding the perfect answer for team members and clients. The best part is doing an analysis and breaking information out, sorting through it, and solutioning. It’s refreshing to work with data and then move forward with people-focused solutions.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I could spend hours in the ocean or the Great Lakes, swimming and just being on the water. It rejuvenates me and I’m ready to hit the ground running again. I also love to repurpose furniture—my most recent piece is a dresser that I just started working on. While walking my dog may not sound thrilling, she has a unique/quirky personality that always keeps me laughing. She is my best friend. I also live for weekend road trips and finding used bookstores. I’ve been searching to build a used Harry Potter collection. So far, I have The Prisoner of Azkaban, Order of the Phoenix, and The Half-Blood Prince.
Any other favorite authors/books?
I used to sneak John Grisham to read when I was younger. Surprisingly, I’m not interested in legal at all (not a fan of conflict thanks to having an ISFJ personality). However, I love how detailed his writing is. And Harry Potter is such a magical journey (no pun intended). I’ve now read the series eight times and still love it. After all this time? Always!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
This, from my grandmother: “You’re weird, kid, and I love it. Don’t change for anyone. Now, if you beat me at another game of Chinese checkers, you’re sleeping outside.”
